Mark Teixeira homered three times and drove in five runs, leading the New York Yankees to a 14-3 win over the Boston Red Sox on Saturday.
Francisco Cervelli added a career-high five RBIs as the Yankees rolled to their second straight victory in the three-game series between the American League East rivals. New York won Friday's game, 10-3.
Teixeira - who had four hits - drove in a run with a third-inning single before hitting solo homers in the fifth and seventh. He hit a two-run homer in the ninth off backup outfielder Jonathan Van Every, who was on the mound because Boston ran out of pitchers.
Boston scored its three runs in the third on a solo home run by Darnell McDonald and a two-run homer by Victor Martinez.
Both homers came off CC Sabathia, who fell one out shy of qualifying for the win because of a rain delay in the fifth inning. The left-hander allowed three runs in 4 2/3 innings, but didn't return after a delay of one hour and 14 minutes.
Alfredo Aceves (3-0) relieved Sabathia and pitched a scoreless inning, but left the game in the sixth because of a stiff back.
Boston starter Clay Buchholz (3-3) allowed six runs in five innings, while the bullpen was tagged for eight more runs.
Cervelli's big day featured an RBI single in the fourth and two-run singles in the fifth and eighth. Nick Swisher also drove in three runs for New York.
