Daisuke Matsuzaka allowed just three hits and one run over seven innings to lead the Boston Red Sox to a 6-1 win over the Toronto Blue Jays at Fenway Park Tuesday night.

Matsuzaka (2-1) struck out nine and didn’t allow a walk in the game as the Red Sox beat the Blue Jays for the fifth straight time this season.

Jason Varitek hit his sixth home run of the season for the Red Sox, whom have won seven of their last nine games at home.

J.D. Drew returned to the lineup after missing Monday’s game with dizziness. He had two hits and drove in Boston’s first run on a groundout in the first inning.

A Kevin Youkilis sacrifice fly added a second run in the first frame for Boston.

Varitek made it 3-0 in the third inning with his shot off loser Dana Eveland (3-2). Eveland was tagged for all six runs on five hits and four walks.

Fred Lewis ended Daisuke’s shutout bid with an RBI double in the sixth.

The two teams complete the three-game series Wednesday afternoon.
