Alberto Callaspo singled home the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning as the Kansas City Royals ended a six-game losing streak Monday with a 5-4 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays.

After Toronto had taken the lead in the top of the 10th inning on a Jose Bautista run-scoring single, the Royals stormed back with two runs in the bottom of the frame off Jays closer Kevin Gregg (0-4).

Scott Podsednik opened the inning with a triple and came around to score the tying run on a Jason Kendall sacrifice fly. After David DeJesus grounded out, Billy Butler reached on a single and pinch-runner Chris Getz advanced to second on a Jose Guillen walked. Callaspo was next to bat and lined a single into center field to bring home Getz with the winning run.

It was the second straight rough outing for Gregg, who loaded the bases in Saturday's 3-2 win over Baltimore and was pulled in favor of Shawn Camp, who picked up the save.

Kyle Farnsworth (3-0) allowed a run in the 10th but hung around for the victory.

Toronto shortstop Yunel Escobar belted a home run for the second straight night after failing to do so over his first 77 games of the season. Escobar has seven RBIs in four games with the Jays since coming over in a trade with Atlanta.

Jason Kendall and Yuniesky Betancourt each drove in a pair of runs for the Royals.
