Justin Morneau homered twice and Joe Mauer added three hits as the Minnesota Twins cruised to an 8-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday.

Morneau belted a solo homer in the sixth inning and added a two-run shot in the eighth to secure the Twins’ second straight victory. The Minnesota first baseman has 10 home runs on the season, tops on the team.

Mauer scored a pair of runs and Delmon Young added a solo homer for Minnesota.

Jose Bautista, named American League player of the week earlier in the day, continued his hot streak with a two-run homer, his fourth in the last three games. It wasn’t nearly enough for Toronto, which saw its four-game winning streak come to an end.

Kevin Slowey (5-3) earned the win despite laboring throughout, allowing three runs on eight hits in five innings of work. Alex Burnett, Matt Guerrier and Jesse Crain combined to throw four shutout innings in relief.

Dana Eveland (3-3) surrendered five runs on nine hits in four-plus innings en route to his second straight loss. The veteran left-hander has just one win since Apr. 15.
