Erik Bedard (5-9) notched his first win in six starts as a member of the Red Sox. The veteran lefty, who is 1-2 in his time at Boston, allowed three runs on five hits in six innings.
Boston trailed 3-1 before breaking the game open in the fourth.
Saltalamacchia began the scoring with a two-run shot, his 14th, off Colby Lewis (11-10). Following an RBI single by Mike Aviles, Crawford cleared the right field bullpen with a grand slam.
Dustin Pedroia added a three-run double in the sixth inning for Boston, which trails the New York Yankees by a half-game in the American League East. Josh Reddick had four of Boston’s 16 hits in the game, a day after managing just two hits in a 10-0 loss on Friday night.
