The Los Angeles Angels scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to rally to a 6-5 victory over the visiting Cleveland Indians on Sunday.
The teams exchanged the lead in the eighth inning, with Cleveland scoring two runs in the top of the eighth on an infield single by Travis Hafner and a fielder's choice by Orlando Cabrera.
Los Angeles reliever Francisco Rodney (2-1) yielded the runs, but ultimately picked up the win.
Trailing 4-3 in the bottom of the eighth, Los Angeles' Peter Bourjos reached on an infield single that scored Howie Kendrick. In the next at-bat, Erick Aybar lined a two-run double deep in the gap off Cleveland reliever Joe Smith (1-1) to put Los Angeles ahead 6-4.
Jordan Walden allowed one run in the ninth inning, but earned his sixth save of the season.
The shaky relief pitching washed away decent starting pitching. Cleveland's Fausto Carmona lasted seven innings and allowed three runs while striking out seven. Los Angeles starter Dan Haren struck out 10 and allowed two runs in 6 2/3 innings.
Cleveland lost for just the third time in its last 12 games and fell to 2-4 this season against Los Angeles.
