Greg Dobbs had a two-run single against his former team to spark a two-run rally as the Florida Marlins posted a 4-3 win over the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park on Friday.
Dobbs looped a single into shallow left field off reliever Danys Baez (1-1) to drive in Logan Morrison and Gaby Sanchez, who just slid in ahead of the throw from left fielder Raul Ibanez.
The Marlins' offense exploded after Phillies starter Roy Oswalt left the game with a lower back strain.
Edward Mujica (2-1) pitched one inning and picked up the win in relief of starter Javier Vazquez, who allowed three runs in five innings. Florida’s bullpen worked four scoreless innings and Leo Nunez worked the ninth to earn his league-leading fifth save.
Morrison belted his fourth homer of the season in the fifth inning against Oswalt. By going 2-for-4, Morrison raised his batting average to .320.
The win was the third straight for the Marlins and pulled Florida to within one game of NL East-leading Philadelphia.
