Justin Bour slugged a three-run homer to cap a five-run first inning that led the Los Angeles Angels to a 5-3 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday and a sweep of the two-game Freeway Series at Anaheim, Calif.
Shohei Ohtani also went deep in the opening inning, and Brian Goodwin added a run-scoring single. Ohtani had two of the Angels' six hits.
Max Muncy hit two solo homers and David Freese also hit a blast for the Dodgers, who have lost four of their past six games.
The Dodgers were 2-of-13 with runners in scoring position and stranded 15 runners. Corey Seager had three of the team's 12 hits, but he exited in the ninth inning after he appeared to pull his left hamstring. Alex Verdugo also had three hits.
Angels right-hander Hansel Robles recorded the final five outs and escaped a ninth-inning jam for his second save in two nights and ninth of the season.
Seager led off the ninth with an infield hit and moved to second on a wild pitch. Verdugo followed with a single to center, and Seager would have scored easily, but he pulled up lame as he reached third. He was replaced by pinch runner Kyle Garlick.
Robles then struck out Chris Taylor and Enrique Hernandez -- both looking -- and retired Russell Martin on a grounder to shortstop to end it.
Felix Pena (4-1), the second of five Angels pitchers, allowed two runs, six hits and one walk while striking out four in 3 2/3 innings.
Dodgers starter Kenta Maeda (7-3) gave up five runs and three hits in 4 1/3 innings. He struck out four and walked three while losing for the first time since April 23 against the Chicago Cubs.
Maeda retired the first two batters in the first before fellow Japan native Ohtani sent a 3-2 slider 416 feet into the stands in right-center.
Maeda hit Kole Calhoun with a pitch and walked Jonathan Lucroy before the left-handed-hitting Goodwin took advantage of the shift by hitting a ground single close to where the shortstop would typically play to score Calhoun and make it 2-0.
Bour followed by taking advantage of a second-pitch changeup, drilling it 417 feet over the fence in center to give the Angels the quick five-run margin.
Muncy got the Dodgers on the board with two outs in the third when he smacked a 3-2 slider from Pena over the fence in center. The ball traveled 429 feet.
Muncy hit his second blast off Pena while leading off the fifth. The 2-2 changeup sailed 403 feet to center.
Freese batted for Austin Barnes to lead off the eighth and smacked a first-pitch slider from right-hander Ty Buttrey well over the fence in left-center. The 428-foot shot was Freese's third career pinch-hit homer.
