Anthony Rendon hit a three-run homer in the top of the seventh inning to lift the Los Angeles Angels to a 7-6 win against the Houston Astros in the second game of a doubleheader on Saturday night in Anaheim, Calif.
The Angels rallied from two-run deficits in the seventh inning to win both games of the doubleheader and stretch their season-long win streak to four games.
George Springer homered twice and Josh Reddick hit a three-run homer for the Astros, who were the home team in the second game because it was a make-up from when the Angels were in Houston last week.
Humberto Castellanos (0-1) brought a 6-4 lead into the top of the seventh. He got the first out but gave up a single to Justin Upton and walked Mike Trout before Rendon homered down the line in left for the 7-6 lead.
Albert Pujols also drove in three runs for the Angels.
Los Angeles starter Dillon Peters made his season debut and the left-hander went 1 2/3 innings, allowing four runs (three earned) and three hits, striking out two and walking none.
Noe Ramirez (1-0) pitched the sixth and Ty Buttrey worked the seventh for his fifth save.
Houston right-hander Jose Urquidy was activated on Saturday and went 3 2/3 innings, allowing two runs and four hits, striking out two and walking three in his season debut.
Springer's leadoff home run and Reddick's three-run shot staked the Astros to a 4-0 lead after two innings.
Trout served as the designated hitter in the second game and doubled to lead off the fourth, the sixth straight time he reached base in the doubleheader.
Pujols drove in Trout with a single to cut the lead to 4-1.
Pujols later came home on a diving play by Carlos Correa at short on a hard-hit grounder with the bases loaded, making the score 4-2. Pujols would later tie it at 4-4 with a two-run single in the fifth.
