Eloy Jimenez belted two of his team's four home runs while collecting five RBIs as the visiting Chicago White Sox topped the Chicago Cubs 9-3 on Sunday night to complete a three-game sweep.
Dylan Cease struck out 10 in five solid innings to earn the win.
Jimenez and Cease, both acquired by the White Sox in a July 2017 trade with the crosstown Cubs, shined against their former organization to lift the White Sox to their fifth win in seven games.
The Cubs have lost four straight and 10 of 12.
Jimenez cracked a two-run home run in the first inning, a two-run double in the second and a solo shot in the fifth, providing a spark that helped key the White Sox's third three-game sweep at Wrigley Field since the teams' interleague rivalry began in 1997.
The White Sox's power surge began at the earliest possible juncture.
Reinserted in the starting lineup after he initially was due to get a night off to rest, Chicago shortstop Tim Anderson homered against Cubs right-hander Zach Davies on the first pitch of the game.
Two batters later, Jimenez hit his first blast of the night. Yoan Moncada walked before Andrew Vaughn gave the White Sox their third long ball of the inning giving the visitors a 5-0 lead.
Davies (6-9) lost his third straight start. He yielded seven runs and seven hits in two innings with one walk and five strikeouts.
After yielding four home runs in 25 1/3 innings over five July starts, Davies has allowed five homers in six innings in his two August starts.
Frank Schwindel delivered a pinch-hit, two-run single in the second to open the Cubs' scoring. Greg Deichmann added an RBI single in the third.
Cease (9-6) benefited from the early run support to win his second straight start, scattering three runs on five hits and three walks.
Anderson joined Jimenez with three hits for the White Sox, while Vaughn had two hits and three RBIs.
Rafael Ortega had two hits for the Cubs, who struck out 16 times in the game.
