Brian Goodwin went 2-for-5 with a home run and five RBIs to lead the visiting Chicago White Sox to a 15-2 win over the Detroit Tigers on Saturday.

Tim Anderson went 3-for-5 with three runs and Yermin Mercedes had three RBIs for the AL Central-leading White Sox, who won their third straight and fifth in the last six games.

The White Sox jumped on Tigers starter Jose Urena early, scoring eight runs in the first two innings.

Chicago took a 3-0 lead in the first following an RBI double by Goodwin and a two-run single by Mercedes.

Detroit answered in its half of the first, cutting Chicago's lead to 3-2 on a two-run home run to right by Harold Castro, his first of the season.

But the White Sox responded in the second thanks to Goodwin, who hit a three-run home run to right field to give Chicago a 6-2 lead. With Urena done early, Chicago went up 8-2 on a two-run single by Leury Garcia off Daniel Norris.

Urena (2-6) lasted just 1 2/3 innings, giving up eight runs (seven earned) on five hits and three walks.

The score didn't change until the fifth inning, when Anderson singled home two runs to give the White Sox a 10-2 lead. Chicago scored three more in the fifth to take a 13-2 lead.

At one point in the fifth, Tigers reliever Alex Lange threw 13 consecutive balls.

Detroit's bullpen became so taxed that catcher Jake Rogers was called upon to pitch the eighth inning.

The White Sox pounced on that opportunity, scoring two runs on Rogers to take a 15-2 lead.

In the ninth, the Tigers called on another position player, Castro, to pitch.

Dylan Cease (5-2) was the winning pitcher for Chicago, striking out seven, walking one and allowing four hits in five innings of work.

Robbie Grossman went 2-for-3 with a walk to lead the Tigers, who only generated five hits.
