Walker Buehler threw seven shutout innings to lift the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 9-3 win against the Arizona Diamondbacks in the second game of their three-game series on Saturday night in Phoenix.

Buehler (7-0) brought a no-hitter into the eighth inning before giving up a leadoff single to David Peralta.

He was removed after 7 1/3 innings, allowing two runs, two hits, striking out a season-high 11 and walking two on 108 pitches.

The bullpen couldn't help Buehler extend his personal shutout streak, however, giving three runs to Arizona after Buehler departed to make it 9-3.

Buehler's string of shutout innings ended at 21, but he tied the franchise record with his 23rd straight start without suffering a loss, and has lasted at least six innings for the 16th straight start, including the 2020 postseason.

Diamondbacks rookie Matt Peacock (2-5) gave up three runs and seven hits in five innings. He struck out three and walked two for the Diamondbacks, who have lost 16 in a row.

Peacock surrendered three extra-base hits in the first inning to fall behind early.

With Mookie Betts on board with a leadoff double, Will Smith hit an opposite field two-run home run for a 2-0 lead.

Matt Beaty then tripled, but was stranded when Chris Taylor grounded out to shortstop.

The Dodgers scored again in the second when Zach McKinstry singled with one out, was sacrificed to second by Buehler and scored on a two-out single by Gavin Lux for a 3-0 lead.

The Dodgers put three more runs on the scoreboard against reliever Kevin Ginkel in the sixth.

Ginkel walked the bases loaded with two outs before giving up a three-run double to Justin Turner to make it 6-0.

Taylor hit a two-run homer in the eighth to make it 9-0.

The Dodgers' record for most consecutive starts without a loss is 23 by Kirby Higbe for the Brooklyn Dodgers in the 1940s.
