Yordan Alvarez and Carlos Correa hit back-to-back homers during a three-run sixth and the Houston Astros rallied for a 3-2 win over the host Detroit Tigers in the nightcap of a day-night doubleheader on Saturday.

For Alvarez, it was his 13th homer of the season while Correa now has 15 long balls. Jose Altuve reached base twice and scored a run for Houston.

Lance McCullers Jr. (5-1) allowed two runs on five hits and struck out seven in 5 1/3 innings. Ryan Pressly struck out the side in the seventh to notch his 12th save.

The Tigers won the opener, 3-1, behind Zack Short's two-run homer to halt the Astros' 11-game winning streak.

Jonathan Schoop had two hits, a run scored and an RBI for the Tigers. Nomar Mazara added two hits and an RBI. Wily Peralta started for Detroit in a bullpen game and tossed 2 2/3 hitless innings, allowing just two walks.

Detroit scored a run in the first. With one out, Schoop singled to center. Robbie Grossman drew a walk and, after Miguel Cabrera struck out, Mazara singled to center to knock in Schoop.

Yuli Gurriel reached on an infield single to lead off the fourth but he was immediately erased when Alvarez bounced into a double play.

Detroit reliever Kyle Funkhouser struck out Kyle Tucker and Abraham Toro to start the fifth. Following a Myles Straw single, Martin Maldonado also went down swinging.

The Tigers made it 2-0 in the bottom of the inning. Harold Castro blooped a one-out single and moved to second on Akil Baddoo's four-pitch walk with two outs. Schoop then smacked a single through the hole and Castro slid home safely.

Houston took the lead in the sixth. Altuve led off with a double. After Michael Brantley lined out and Gurriel flied out, Alvarez ripped a 3-2 pitch off Michael Fulmer (4-4) over the left-center field wall. Just two pitches later, Correa hammered a fastball over the left field wall.

Mazara hit a one-out double in the bottom of the inning but reliever Ryne Stanek retired the next two batters.
