Francisco Garcia and Carl Landry scored 22 points apiece to lead the visiting Sacramento Kings to a 117-116 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night in the season opener for both teams.

Garcia started at guard because 2010 Rookie of the Year Tyreke Evans was serving a one-game suspension for an offseason reckless driving incident. He made 7-of-12 shots, including two 3-pointers, and all six free throws.

Landry grabbed 11 rebounds, including seven on the offensive end.

Minnesota's Wayne Ellington missed a potential tying 3-pointer in the final seconds that was tipped in by rookie Wesley Johnson just before the horn.

Luke Ridnour had 20 points and six assists and fellow offseason acquisition Michael Beasley scored 17 points for the Timberwolves.

Beno Udrih scored 18 points for Sacramento. Center DeMarcus Cousins had 14 points and eight rebounds in his NBA debut.
