Rookie Iman Shumpert also scored 20 points, tying his season high, and New York sent Minnesota to its third consecutive defeat by holding the Timberwolves to one field goal over the final 9 1/2 minutes.

Landry Fields added 19 points and Steve Novak buried a pair of huge 3-pointers in the waning minutes as the Knicks won again without stars Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire.

Lin, the undrafted point guard out of Harvard, had his fifth consecutive 20-point effort to coincide with New York's winning streak.

Kevin Love registered his fifth straight double-double with 32 points and 21 rebounds for Minnesota, which managed only one field goal after his layup with 9:37 to play. That was a layup by Ricky Rubio with 39 seconds remaining.

Timberwolves center Nikola Pekovic also had a double-double with 21 points and a career-high 13 rebounds.
