TIMBERWOLVES 97, WARRIORS 93:
Kevin Love had 36 points and 17 rebounds as visiting Minnesota sent Golden State to its fourth consecutive loss.

Love was 13 of 23 and made 3 of 5 3-pointers as the Timberwolves (23-24) won for only the second time in seven games.

Luke Ridnour had 11 points and 10 assists for Minnesota, which had lost 13 of the past 17 against Golden State.

Anthony Tolliver, who had not made a 3-pointer since early January, made two and finished with 10 points. Derrick Williams added 11 rebounds as the Timberwolves held a 48-33 edge on the boards.

David Lee led the Warriors with 25 points and nine rebounds.

Richard Jefferson, in his second game with the Warriors after being acquired last week, scored 19 points.

Rookie Klay Thompson scored 17 points and Nate Robinson had 13 points and seven assists as Golden State (18-25) fell a season-low seven games below .500.

After winning three straight in early March to get a season-best two games above .500, Minnesota had lost five of six.

The Timberwolves led 49-35 at the half and outrebounded the Warriors 28-15.

The Timberwolves limited the Warriors to 33.3 percent shooting in the first half, the best first-half defense percentage by the Timberwolves this season. They previously kept Washington to 34.9 percent shooting on Jan. 8.

The Warriors answered Minnesota's 7-0 run with a 7-0 run of their own in the fourth to tie the score at 78 with 8:06 remaining.

From there, the action stayed tight until Love proved too much for the Warriors, scoring 10 points in the final eight minutes. Thompson made the final score close with five points in the final 33 seconds.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
The Warriors retired the No. 17 jersey of Chris Mullin, a former All-Star and general manager with the team. Mullin is the sixth Warriors player to have his jersey number retired, joining Wilt Chamberlain, Rick Berry, Al Attles, Tom Meschery and Nate Thurmond. ... Stephen Curry did not dress for his fifth straight game because of a sprained right ankle. ... Nikola Pekovic (ankle) was a late scratch for Minnesota on Sunday but started and scored six points before leaving in the fourth as the ankle injury flared up again. ... Minnesota's Michael Beasley (sore big toe) scored eight points in the first half but sat out the second.
