GRIZZLIES 103, HORNETS 91: Rudy Gay scored 26 points and Mike Conley had a big night as host Memphis kept pace in the Western Conference with its 10th win in the last 13 games. New Orleans had its four-game winning streak come to an end.

Conley finished with 20 points and five assists and O.J. Mayo scored 15 off the bench for the Grizzlies, who have settled into the No. 5 spot in the West.

The Hornets, who have been playing strong defense lately, kept pace with Memphis in the first half and went into the break with a 48-47 edge.

The Grizzlies took over in the third quarter, shooting 75 percent (15 for 20) in the period and outscoring New Orleans 37-12 to break it open. Memphis scored on its first 10 possessions out of the half and Gay totaled 13 points while Conley added 10 in the frame.

The Hornets, who are determined to play out the string strong, made a bit of a comeback in the fourth quarter. Jerome Dyson scored 13 of his career-high 24 points in the frame but it was not enough as the Grizzlies’ bench closed it out.
