Devin Harris scored 25 of his 27 points in the first half and Utah gained ground in its playoff chase by ripping Portland in its home finale.

Utah (33-30) moved into eighth-place, a half-game ahead of Phoenix, and 1 1/2 games behind seventh-place Denver.

Harris made a career-best six 3-pointers. Gordon Hayward scored 23 points while rookie Alec Burks added a career-high 17 and Al Jefferson finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Wesley Matthews led Portland (28-35) with 21 points. Nolan Smith, J.J. Hickson and Luke Babbitt all scored 16 apiece.

Portland’s Raymond Felton sat out the game with an Achilles and Jamal Crawford rested to give younger players more minutes. Joel Przybilla (bronchitis) also sat out.

Utah took a commanding 57-39 halftime lead behind Harris’ 25 points. Harris made 8 of 12 field goals in the first half, including 6 for 9 on 3-pointers.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Dallas guard Delonte West has been fined $25,000 for a physical taunt - specifically, a wet willy - of Jazz guard Gordon Hayward during Utah's 123-121 triple-overtime home victory Monday. … Matthews was presented with Portland’s Maurice Lucas Award at halftime. … Portland has now made at least six 3-pointers in 20 consecutive games, tying a franchise record from 2008.
