Bulls 97, Hawks 58: Carlos Boozer had 20 points and 13 rebounds for his Eastern Conference-leading 20th double-double and eighth in nine games as host Chicago held Atlanta to just five points in the second quarter and 20 at halftime.
Luol Deng had 18 points and Joakim Noah added nine and 16 rebounds for the Bulls, who posted a franchise record for least points allowed and snapped a two-game home losing skid by defeating Atlanta for the fifth straight time at the United Center.
Chicago carried a 26-15 edge into the second quarter and scored 10 points before Al Horford's dunk with 5:15 remaining. Josh Smith added a free throw and a short jumper as Atlanta shot just 20.5 percent from the field in the first half en route to a 48-20 deficit.
Deng didn't let up, drilling a pair of 3-pointers and finishing with eight points in the third quarter as the Bulls extended their lead to 71-37.
Johan Petro made a 14-foot jumper with 1:47 left to prevent Atlanta from matching the lowest point total (49) in the shot-clock era - which was set by Chicago in April 1999. The Hawks shot just 29.3 percent from the field and Jeff Teague's layup with 7.9 seconds left kept Atlanta from setting a franchise mark for fewest points. The record is 57 in 1955 when the franchise was located in St. Louis.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Atlanta's 20 points in the first half were just one more than the NBA record for fewest in the shot-clock era. The Los Angeles Clippers mustered 19 points versus the Lakers in 1999. ... The five points was a franchise worst for the Hawks in a quarter. The 20 points allowed by Chicago bested its previous franchise record, which was 22 by New York in 1999. ... Atlanta G Devin Harris was called for a flagrant 1 foul for hitting Kirk Hinrich during a floating jumper early in the second half.
