Heat 107, Bulls 95:
LeBron James led seven players in double figures with 17 points and eight assists as host Miami received its championship rings and then took care of Chicago in the season opener.

Chris Bosh scored 16 points while Dwyane Wade and Mario Chalmers added 13 apiece for the Heat, who bridged the first and second quarters with a 31-5 run to take control. Shane Battier and Ray Allen combined to knock down seven 3-pointers as Miami went 11-for-20 from beyond the arc.

Derrick Rose struggled to 12 points on 4-of-15 shooting in his first game since the 2012 playoffs after overcoming knee surgery. Carlos Boozer led all scorers with 31 points and Jimmy Butler added 20 for the Bulls.

Rose made a driving layup on his first shot attempt of the game and Chicago fed off that energy for a few minutes until 3-pointers by Battier and Allen put the Heat on top for good with 1:39 left in the first quarter. The Bulls went over five minutes without a point and Miami pushed the lead out to 41-20 before cruising into the break with a 54-33 edge.

James hit Chris Andersen with a no-look pass for a dunk to make it a 78-58 gap at the end of the third and Norris Cole’s bucket pushed it out to 83-58 with 10:49 left before Chicago made it interesting with a late run. The Bulls trimmed the deficit to 97-89 with 1:40 left but could not get any closer.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Chicago C Joakim Noah (groin) got the start but was limited to 20 minutes while collecting two points and 11 rebounds. … Rose finished with more turnovers (five) than assists (four) in 34 minutes. … Miami C Greg Oden (knees) was inactive for the game and has not played since 2009.
