Pistons 96, Thunder 89 (OT): Brandon Jennings scored 29 points, including eight quick ones in overtime, as Detroit snapped a long losing skid against Oklahoma City.
Jennings scored 25 points after intermission and Josh Smith added 18 points for the Pistons, who snapped a 10-game losing streak to the Thunder dating to Dec. 26, 2008. Greg Monroe had 14 points and Andre Drummond contributed 15 rebounds as Detroit snapped an overall three-game losing streak.
Jeremy Lamb posted his first double-double of his career with 24 points and 10 rebounds for the Thunder, who lost to the Pistons at home for the first time since the franchise moved from Seattle after the 2007-08 season. Reggie Jackson had 20 points and 12 assists but missed a potential game-winner at the regulation buzzer.
Jennings hit a straight-away, step-back 3-pointer, a driving layup down the left lane and another 3-pointer from the left wing in a span of 71 seconds to provide Detroit a 92-84 lead with 1:29 left. Jennings finished with five 3-pointers and five assists two nights after producing 32 points and 10 assists against Washington.
Detroit opened a 77-68 lead midway through the fourth with the help of two 3-pointers by Jonas Jerebko, but seven points from Serge Ibaka and a pull-up jumper and 3-pointer by Anthony Morrow gave Oklahoma City an 80-79 edge with 2:14 to play. The Thunder had a chance to win on Steven Adams' career-high fifth block on a drive to the basket by Kyle Singler with 10.6 ticks left, but Jackson's turnaround jumper from the foul line bounced out.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Jackson scored 12 points in the first quarter as the Thunder overcame an early eight-point hole to take a nine-point lead. ... Detroit went without a field goal the final 5 1/2 minutes of the first quarter and the Thunder opened the fourth without a point for the first five minutes. … The Pistons finished the fourth quarter 3-of-17 to squander a nine-point advantage.
