Grizzlies 117, Celtics 100: Marc Gasol matched a season high with 32 points and Zach Randolph added 16 points and 16 rebounds as the Grizzlies continued their long home winning streak.
The duo combined to shoot 20-of-34 from the field and Gasol added eight rebounds for the Grizzlies, who extended their franchise record of consecutive home wins to 21. Jon Leuer scored a season-high 19 points off the bench as Memphis got four of the five players back who missed Wednesday's loss in Toronto with a stomach virus.
Kelly Olynyk scored 18 points for the Celtics, who have lost four of their last five games. Jared Sullinger had 13 points and six rebounds as Boston dropped its fifth straight at Memphis.
The Grizzlies used their proven recipe of strong play from Randolph and Gasol and a stingy defense to grind out a 55-41 edge at the half. Randolph and Gasol combined for 23 points and 14 rebounds and the defense held Boston to 41 percent shooting and zero points from the free-throw line.
The highest-scoring big men combo in the league scored the Grizzlies' first 19 points of the second half as Memphis led by as many as 19, but Olynyk scored 14 in the quarter as Boston got as close as eight. A 13-3 Memphis run midway through the fourth, bookended by a 3-pointer by Mike Conley and a layup by the left-hander, provided a 103-82 lead, and Memphis was never threatened.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Grizzlies are 48-17 during the calendar year - best in the NBA. … Memphis' run on home wins has surpassed the franchise's previous mark of 15 set March 18-Nov. 6, 2012 and is the longest such streak in the NBA since Denver won 23 straight from Jan. 20-April 7, 2013. ... Randolph has 101 double-doubles since the start of 2012-13 season, second in the NBA to Dwight Howard's 102.
