The Bulls' Zach LaVine then had a 3-point attempt swatted by Blake Griffin, securing the Pistons' victory.
Griffin finished with 33 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and one block. Reggie Jackson supplied 18 points and six assists while Smith had 15 points and five assists off the bench. Reggie Bullock added 16 points while Stanley Johnson and Andre Drummond chipped in 10 apiece for Detroit.

Griffin and Jackson combined for 31 points in the first half as the Pistons led 60-58 at the break.

Griffin hit a 3 with just over five minutes left for a 103-97 lead. He reached the 30-point mark with a layup.
Payne found Parker for an open 3 from the left wing with 3:15 left, bringing the Bulls within one at 105-104. A Griffin kickout led to a Jackson 3 and a four-point Detroit lead.
Drummond's tip-in with 2:17 remaining nudged the lead to six. When Drummond fouled out a minute later, Payne made two free throws to cut Detroit's lead to two at 113-111.
