Ben Hansbrough scored 19 points to lead Notre Dame to a 72-51 victory over Liberty on Sunday in South Bend.

Hansbrough did most of his damage in the first half as the Fighting Irish (2-0) built a big lead and cruised to another easy victory.

Hansbrough was 5-of-8 from the field in the opening 20 minutes, including 4-of-5 from the arc. He scored 14 of his points in the first half to help Notre Dame take a 41-22 lead.

Tyrone Nash scored 16 points and Tim Abromaitis added 13 for Notre Dame, which made seven of its 10 three-pointers in the first half.

David Minaya scored 12 points and John Brown added 10 and 12 rebounds for Liberty (1-1).

The Flames only shot 36 percent from the field and were just 4-of-7 from the free throw line. By comparison, Nash was 12-of-15 from the stripe by himself for the Irish.
