The University of Southern California blasted Cal State Fullerton on Wednesday night 81-54 in a non-conference game at the Galen Center in Los Angeles.
Freshman guard Maurice Jones led the way with 20 points, five assists and four steals for the Trojans, who also got strong games from their starting forward duo of Nikola Vucevic and Alex Stepheson.
Vucevic, a 6-foot-10 junior, and Stepheson, a 6-foot-9 senior, combined for 27 points and 26 rebounds. For Vucevic (16 points, 14 rebounds), it was his fourth double-double in six games.
The Trojans (4-2) held a 32-30 lead at the half, but opened the half with a 18-9 run after Stepheson's jumper gave the Trojans a 50-39 lead.
The Titans (1-4) never got closer than nine points the rest of the way as Jones scored 17 of his 20 points in the second half to key the Trojans' largest victory of the season.
Fellow freshman guard Bryce Jones added 15 points for Southern Cal, which improved to 3-0 all-time against the Titans.
Up next for the Trojans is a Saturday date in the Big 12/Pac-10 Hardwood Series at Nebraska, followed by a Monday game with Texas Christian.
Senior Devon Peltier led the Titans with 15 points, followed by 13 from Sedric Martin. The Titans shot 20 of 57 (35.1 percent) from the field, including 5 for 23 from 3-point range.
