Arkansas used a 13-0 run to close the first half and pull away from pesky Troy and claim a 75-60 home victory on Saturday.
It was the first trip to Bud Walton Arena for Troy since it shocked Arkansas in 2002. It seemed another upset might be in the cards early on, as the Trojans led by as many as six in the first half before the Razorbacks closed the half with a flurry for a 48-36 halftime lead.
Delvon Johnson scored 16 of his game-high 20 points in the first half to pace the Razorbacks (5-1). Johnson also grabbed 14 rebounds and added four of the team's nine blocked shots. Rotnei Clarke added 16 points for Arkansas.
Vernon Taylor led Troy with 19 points and six rebounds, and Shawntez Patterson added 12 points.
The Trojans (1-6) lost their sixth straight since a season-opening victory and dropped to 0-5 in road games.
The Razorbacks have two matchups with major-conference opponents coming up - Seton Hall at home Wednesday and travel to Texas A&M on Dec. 18.
