Corey Raji collected 19 points and 12 rebounds as Boston College added to its at-large resume for an NCAA Tournament berth with a 76-61 victory at Virginia Tech on Tuesday.
Reggie Jackson added 20 points and John Cahill scored 12 for the Eagles (18-11, 8-7 ACC), who have won back-to-back games for the first time since early January, resurrecting hopes for a late charge at an NCAA berth.
Erick Green scored 21 points for the Hokies (19-9, 9-6), who suffered a big letdown after taking out then-No. 1 Duke on Saturday. Virginia Tech remains in fourth place in the ACC and still boasts a strong at-large resume.
Jackson led the charge early, scoring 11 points during a 13-0 run early in the first half to give Boston College a quick 19-6 edge. The Eagles would push it out to as much as 30-12 before the Hokies made a run, cutting it to 35-27 at the break.
Virginia Tech hung around through the first five minutes of the second half until the Eagles took off on an 18-4 burst, pushing the lead to 20 points with under eight minutes to play.
