Allen Crabbe scored a game-high 18 points and California remained unbeaten at home with an 81-36 rout of visiting San Jose State on Wednesday.
The Golden Bears (7-2) rebounded from their one-point loss to San Diego State on Sunday with a dominant effort against the overmatched Spartans (3-6).
California, which led 43-15 at halftime, scored the first 11 points of the second half and led by 42 points with 14 minutes left. The Golden Bears shot 49 percent from the field and outrebounded the Spartans 52-32.
Jorge Gutierrez scored 14 points and Justin Cobbs added 10 for California, which improved to 19-0 all-time against the Spartans in Berkeley.
San Jose State’s James Kinney, who averaged 29 points in his last two games, went scoreless while shooting 0-of-12 from the field. Wil Carter led the Spartans with 13 points.
Freshman forward David Kravish had nine points and 10 rebounds in his first career start for California, which improved to 6-0 at home.
Every player scored for California, which held San Jose State to 12-of-60 (20 percent) shooting from the field.
