TEXAS 69, OKLAHOMA 58: J’Covan Brown scored a game-high 19 points, Sheldon McClellan added 13 off the bench, and Texas used a big second-half run to come back against rival Oklahoma.

After a slow start to conference play, the Longhorns (17-9, 7-6 Big 12) won their fourth in a row to move within a game of fourth place in the standings.

Oklahoma (13-12, 3-10 Big 12) got 11 first-half points from Cameron Clark to take a 33-28 halftime lead, but Texas opened the second half on a 17-6 spurt and took a 45-39 advantage on Myck Kabongo’s fast-break layup with 13:09 remaining.

The Longhorns have outscored their last two opponents in the second half by 40 combined points.

Steven Pledger led the Sooners with 18 points, while Kabongo had 13 points and seven assists for Texas.

The Longhorns’ lead swelled to 54-42 on Kabongo’s pretty fast-break alley-oop to Jaylen Bond with just under 11 minutes left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Texas missed nine of its first 10 attempts from 3-point range … Brown hit three consecutive 3-pointers during the Longhorns’ key run in the second half … There was a brief stoppage with 3:19 left as Texas coach Rick Barnes thought the clock had been running during free throw attempts for the previous four minutes.
