No. 2 Michigan 68, Northwestern 46: Sophomore guard Trey Burke finished with 18 points and eight assists as the Wolverines trumped the visiting Wildcats.

Glenn Robinson III poured in 13 points while fellow freshman Nik Stauskas added 11 for Michigan (20-1, 7-1 Big Ten). Sophomore Jon Horford recorded season highs with 10 points and seven rebounds.

Northwestern (12-10, 3-6) was led by freshman center Alex Olah, who scored 10 points and was the only Wildcat to finish in double figures.

After the teams traded baskets early, a 13-4 run helped the Wolverines open up a 36-21 lead by intermission. Three scoring droughts of at least two minutes hurt the Wildcats over the first 20 minutes and Northwestern also went nearly four minutes without a score in the second half.

Michigan did not commit its first turnover until 11:11 remained. The Wolverines shot 40 percent from 3-point range and 51 percent from the floor.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Michigan freshman forward Mitch McGary tied a career high with 11 boards. … The Wolverines’ assist-to-turnover ratio was 14-to-2. … Burke notched his 300th career assist. He's also the only player in the conference to score at least 15 points in ever Big Ten game this season.
