Missouri led by as many as 13 points in the opening half before Kentucky began chipping away. The Wildcats had a five-point advantage with 3:36 left in regulation, but needed a basket by Willie Cauley-Stein with 40 seconds remaining to push the game to overtime.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Missouri and Kentucky met for the first time as conference opponents. … Cauley-Stein, who replaced Nerlens Noel in the starting lineup after he suffered a season-ending knee injury last week, finished with seven points, 12 rebounds and seven blocked shots. The rebounds matched a career high for the freshman while the blocks were a personal best. … Griffin made his first 3-pointer in the last 12 games – ending an 0-for-14 stretch – to open the second half before finishing 2-for-3 beyond the arc.
