No. 15 Cincinnati 69, No. 7 Louisville 66: Sean Kilpatrick scored 28 points — including 12 of his team's final 14 — as the visiting Bearcats knocked off the Cardinals to remain undefeated in American Athletic Conference play.
Justin Jackson played through a sprained ankle to collect 11 points and nine rebounds for Cincinnati (20-2, 9-0 AAC), which has won 13 straight. Shaquille Thomas added 11 points and Titus Rubles had eight points and eight rebounds for the Bearcats.
Montrezl Harrell scored 18 points and Luke Hancock added 16 points and six assists for Louisville (17-4, 6-2), which saw its four-game winning streak end. Russ Smith also scored 16 points and Terry Rozier added 10.
The Bearcats held Louisville to 30.8 percent shooting in the first half and led by as many as 15 before allowing a 7-0 run over the final 2 1/2 minutes to cut it to 28-20 at halftime. Cincinnati was red-hot from long range early in the second half, as Kilpatrick knocked down a pair from outside and Ge'Lawn Guyn also connected on a 3-pointer to help stretch the margin to 42-25 just 3 1/2 minutes into the half.
Louisville was down by 17 early in the second half before forcing four turnovers during a 14-0 spurt to get back in it. The home crowd was whipped into a frenzy when Smith hit a long 3-pointer from the left wing with the shot clock winding down to put the Cardinals ahead 64-61 with just over five minutes left, but Louisville went 0-for-5 from the field the rest of the way.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Cincinnati has held 47 of its last 50 opponents under 70 points. … Louisville PG Chris Jones returned after missing three games with a strained oblique but struggled to six points on 3-of-11 shooting in a reserve role. … The Bearcats were 17-of-18 from the foul line, while the Cardinals were 8-of-12.
