Southern Methodist 55, Texas A&M 52: Nic Moore scored 16 points and made the winning free throws with 26 seconds left to lead the Mustangs over the Aggies in the consolation game of the Corpus Christi Challenge.

Yanick Moreira added 14 points and six rebounds for SMU (6-2), which lost to Virginia 77-73 in Friday's semifinals. The Mustangs converted only 11-of-19 free throws, but were 4-for-4 down the stretch in a game which featured seven ties and seven lead changes in the second half.

Davonte Fitzgerald and J-Mychal Reese scored 12 and 11 points, respectively, and Kourtney Roberson grabbed 10 rebounds for Texas A&M (6-2), which was stunned by Missouri State 73-67 on Friday in the semifinals. The Aggies were 6-for-23 from the floor in the second half.

SMU missed eight of its first nine shots and trailed by as many as 10, but cut the deficit to one before Fitzgerald's 3-pointer gave Texas A&M a 30-26 lead at the break. The Mustangs scored the first seven points after intermission - five from Moore - and led 37-33 after Nick Russell's free throws with just over 14 minutes left.

After Moore put SMU on top 53-52, Reese drove the lane and saw his short driving jumper with less than five seconds left roll around the bucket and out. Russell hit a pair of free throws with 3.3 seconds left before Reese's 3-point runner from about 25 feet at the buzzer hit the backboard but missed the rim.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The teams combined to shoot 7-for-21 from 3-point range. ... Moreira and Moore were 12-for-19 from the floor while his teammates were 8-for-31. ... SMU leads the series between the former Southwest Conference rivals 91-87.
