Goodwin's layup broke a nearly five-minute drought for USC, da Silva answered with a 3-pointer and Agbonkpolo's layup made it 50-47 with 6:11 left. Goodwin split two free throws to make it a two-point game; and, after the Buffaloes missed, Mobley dunked to tie it at 50 with 5:05 left.

After Walker split a pair of foul shots, Ellis made a layup to stretch the lead to three. Walker made two free throws with 1:15 left to cut it to 57-56 but missed a go-ahead layup with 41 seconds remaining.
