Darius Days scored 26 points and LSU rallied in the second half to pull away from Liberty 74-58 in a nonconference game Monday night in Baton Rouge, La.

Efton Reid added 13 points and Xavier Pinson and Eric Gaines had 10 each for the Tigers (3-0), who overcame a halftime deficit for the second consecutive game.

Darius McGhee scored 22 points and Brody Peebles added 12, all in the second half off the bench, and Keegan McDowell had 10 to lead the Flames (1-1), who led midway through the second half but made just one field goal in the final 7:42.

The Tigers started the second half with a 9-0 run as the Flames missed their first five shots, including three 3-pointers, giving LSU a 34-26 lead.

McGhee ended the drought by making a 3-pointer and Peebles made three 3-pointers for a 40-36 lead.

Days made a basket, but Liberty scored five straight points to open a 45-38 lead.

The Tigers got within one point, but the Flames scored the next four.

Days and Brandon Murray made consecutive 3-pointers and Days and Gaines added two free throws each as LSU grabbed a 57-52 lead.

McGhee made two free throws for Liberty's first points in three minutes, but Days sandwiched two 3-pointers around a Reid 3-pointer that put the Tigers in command with a 66-54 lead with less than three minutes remaining.

Days scored five points as LSU started fast and took an 11-5 lead.

McGhee scored nine straight Liberty points and McDowell added a 3-pointer as the Flames took a 24-20 lead.

Gaines answered with a three-point play, but that was the Tigers' only basket in a stretch of nine shots.

McGhee completed Liberty's first-half scoring with a layup that gave him 13 points, half of his team's total.

Pinson beat the buzzer with a layup that cut the Flames' lead to 26-25 at halftime.
