Malik Hall came off of the bench to score 15 points, leading No. 22 Michigan State to a 73-64 win over Louisville in a Big Ten/ACC Challenge game on Wednesday at East Lansing, Mich.

Hall went 6 of 8 from the field and made all three of his attempts from 3-point range.

Max Christie scored 11 points, Jaden Akins and Gabe Brown each scored 10 points and Marcus Bingham Jr. had nine points, 12 rebounds and three blocks for Michigan State (6-2), which overcame 19 turnovers.

Louisville (5-2) got a game-high 22 points from El Ellis. He came off of the bench to hit 8 of 12 shots, including 4 of 7 from 3-point range.

Dre Davis scored 15 points while Malik Williams had 10 points and eight rebounds for the Cardinals.

Trailing 36-28 at halftime, Louisville came out strong to start the second half, going on a 9-3 run to pull within two with 16:18 left.

Michigan State responded, going on an 8-0 run to take a 47-37 lead with 13:49 left following a 3-pointer and two free throws by Akins.

The Spartans continued to grow their lead, going on a 12-2 surge to take a 59-41 lead with 10:31 remaining.

Louisville made a brief surge, cutting Michigan State's lead to 67-56 with 4:16 remaining after back-to-back 3-point baskets by Ellis.

Ellis then provided five consecutive points to bring Louisville within 70-62 with 1:26 left. However, the Cardinals turned the ball over on back-to-back possessions and couldn't pull any closer.

Both teams struggled on offense to start the game, and the game was tied at 11-11 with less than 10 minutes remaining in the first half.

The teams combined for 16 points over the next two minutes to bring the game to a 19-19 tie with 7:47 to go in the first half.

Michigan State then went on an 11-3 run to take a 30-22 lead with 4:04 remaining until halftime.
