Darryl Morsell pumped in a game-high 26 points Friday night as Marquette rallied in the final five minutes to defeat New Hampshire 75-70 in Milwaukee.

Trailing 62-59 after the Wildcats' Qon Murphy sank two foul shots with 6:30 left, the Golden Eagles (2-0) leaned on Morsell. The Maryland transfer went on a personal 7-0 run, drilling a 3-pointer with 4:17 left to give his team the lead for good at 64-62.

Marquette's Justin Lewis took the baton in the last two minutes. Lewis made a layup for a 71-67 advantage at the 1:18 mark and then answered Nick Guadarrama's 3-pointer with 28.9 seconds remaining by converting four free throws to seal the outcome.

Lewis finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds for Marquette, which shot just 40.7 percent from the field but won on the strength of 24-of-32 foul shooting and a 21-5 advantage in fastbreak points.

Jayden Martinez scored 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Wildcats (1-1). Guadarrama added 15 points and eight boards, while Murphy tallied 10 points. New Hampshire shot 12 of 27 from 3-point range, led by a combined 8-of-15 performance from Martinez and Guadarrama.

Neither team carved out a double-figure lead in the game, with both teams struggling to score through the first 10 1/2 minutes. David Joplin's 3-pointer evened the score up for the Golden Eagles at 12.

The Wildcats took their largest lead of the night at the 2:50 mark of the half when Guadarrama drilled a foul shot to make it 27-21. However, Marquette responded with its most significant run of the game.

Lewis' dunk and layup gave the Golden Eagles a 29-27 edge. After Sloan Seymour sank two foul shots for New Hampshire, Morsell gave Marquette a 34-29 lead at intermission with an 18-footer and then a 3-pointer with 5.9 seconds remaining.
