Kaidon Salter threw for 304 yards and three touchdowns Saturday night and Colorado's offense got going after a slow start to subdue visiting Wyoming 37-20 in Boulder.

Salter, a Liberty transfer who started the season's first two games but didn't play last week in a defeat at Houston, completed 18 of 28 passes for the Buffaloes (2-2). He added 86 yards rushing, including a 35-yard score with 1:46 left in the game, as Colorado finished with 497 total yards.

Kaden Anderson hit just 11 of 25 passes for 176 yards with two touchdowns for the Cowboys (2-2), who continued to struggle offensively. They have scored only 67 points, 31 of them two weeks ago at home against FCS opponent Northern Iowa.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Buffs exploded for 21 second-quarter points to acquire the working margin they lived off in the second half. Salter started the scoring at the 14:12 mark, connecting with Omarion Miller on a 29-yard touchdown pass.

After Erik Sandvik got Wyoming on the board with a 28-yard field goal with 9:39 left in the half, Salter found Sincere Brown for a 68-yard strike and a 14-3 lead. Simeon Price capped the next drive with a 1-yard touchdown run.

Salter kept the onslaught going to start the second half, hitting Joseph Williams for a 47-yard score just 1:05 into the third quarter.

But the Cowboys tried to work their way back into the game as Anderson teamed with Eric Richardson for a 41-yard touchdown and Sandvik made his second field goal, a 38-yarder.

However, Wyoming fell three scores behind when Arden Walker sacked Anderson in the end zone on the first play of the fourth quarter. The Cowboys tacked on their final touchdown with a 7-yard strike to Chris Durr Jr. at the 4:32 mark.

Samuel Harris rushed 19 times for 126 yards for the Cowboys, while the rest of the team managed just 39 yards on 22 attempts. Wyoming also hurt itself by committing seven penalties for 80 yards.
