Philip Rivers threw two of his three first-half touchdown passes to Nyheim Hines as the visiting Indianapolis Colts rolled to a 41-21 win over the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
Rivers passed for 262 yards and Jordan Wilkins led Indianapolis' rushing attack with 89 yards on 20 carries. The Colts (5-2) had 11 different receivers catch at least one pass.
Matthew Stafford passed for 336 yards and three touchdowns for Detroit (3-4), but he also had an interception returned for a touchdown and lost a fumble.
Marvin Jones Jr. caught three passes, two for touchdowns for the Lions, who were held to 29 yards on 13 carries.
Rivers passed for 194 yards by halftime to lift the Colts to a 20-7 advantage.
Detroit's lone score in the half came after a blocked punt. That put the Lions on the Indianapolis 32-yard line, and Stafford found Jones two plays later for a 25-yard score.
The Colts answered early in the second quarter with a four-play, 61-yard drive, capped by Hines' 22-yard reception.
Rivers threw two more touchdown passes before the half ended. The Colts drove 73 yards in 10 plays, with Rivers hooking up with tight end Jack Doyle for the final seven yards.
Late in the half, Rivers found Hines on a 29-yard play for a 13-point Colts lead. The extra-point try was no good.
A 68-yard drive pulled the Lions within six points early in the third. Stafford connected with Kerryon Johnson for the last nine yards.
A sack and Stafford fumble set up the next Colts touchdown. A pass interference call against the Lions extended the drive and Wilkins finished it off with a 1-yard run. He also scored on the two-point conversion try.
On the next play from scrimmage, Stafford's pass intended for Jones was picked off and returned 29 yards by Kenny Moore II for a touchdown to make it 35-14.
A 73-yard pass to Marvin Hall set up a 4-yard pass from Stafford to Jones that cut the Colts' lead to 14 with 12:15 left.
Indianapolis came right back with a 12-play drive, which tight end Trey Burton completed with a 2-yard run on a direct snap.
