Patrick Marleau scored with 2:57 to play to lift the visiting San Jose Sharks to a 2-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday night.

Thomas Greiss turned aside 25 shots as the Pacific Division-leading Sharks won for the sixth time in the last seven games.

It was the third goal in the last four games for Marleau, who eclipsed the 800-point mark for his career earlier in the week.

Ryane Clowe also scored as San Jose denied Columbus a chance to win back-to-back games for the second time this season.

The Sharks went ahead at the 14:59 mark of the second period on a power-play tally by Clowe, who batted the puck out of mid-air.

Blue Jackets goaltender Curtis Sanford protested that Clowe swatted the puck too high, but the goal was upheld upon video review.

Captain Rick Nash tied the game at the 6:53 mark of the final period, beating Greiss to the far corner with a wrist shot.

It was the 275th career goal for Nash and his 16th in 31 games against the Sharks.

Columbus' Dane Byers was ejected from the game early in the second period for a shoulder-to-head hit on San Jose's Andrew Desjardins.
