STARS 3, BLACKHAWKS 1: Michael Ryder scored the game winner and added an assist as Dallas used a third-period flurry to pick up its second straight victory and snap host Chicago’s winning streak at four games.

Steve Ott and Loui Eriksson each scored and Mike Ribeiro added a pair of assists for the Stars, who moved into a tie for eighth place in the Western Conference with 66 points.

Ryder got credit for the go-ahead tally with 5:02 left in the game. Ribeiro took the initial shot and Ryder got a stick in front of in, tapping it past Corey Crawford’s left skate just inside the bar.

Ryder got the assist 1:14 later on a strange goal. The veteran winger sent a wrist shot from the right face-off circle that bounced off Chicago defenseman Brent Seabrook’s skate and high into the air over Crawford’s shoulder. Eriksson gave it the final push into the net, swatting it in for a tally that was upheld upon review.

Ott was sitting in the slot at the 9:25 mark of the third period, the perfect spot to redirect Trevor Daley’s blast and knot it at 1-1.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Chicago captain Jonathan Toews did not play due to an upper-body injury. Toews was also involved in a car accident Thursday afternoon, though reportedly did not suffer any further injury. … The Blackhawks had totaled 15 goals during their winning streak. … Dallas G Richard Bachman made 26 saves.
