Adam Lowry scored twice and Connor Hellebuyck made 22 saves as the Winnipeg Jets defeated the host Vancouver Canucks 4-0 Monday night.
Blake Wheeler and Paul Stastny also scored for the Jets, who snapped a two-game losing streak, which matched their longest of the season. Winnipeg improved to 11-1-1 this season following a loss.
It was the first shutout of the year for Hellebuyck, the reigning Vezina Trophy winner as the NHL's top goaltender. He had six shutouts in his award-winning season.
Vancouver goalie Thatcher Demko, who had gone 8-1-0 in his previous nine starts, stopped 25 of 29 shots. The Canucks, still without first-line center Elias Pettersson because of an upper-body injury, had their five-game point streak snapped (4-0-1).
Wheeler opened the scoring at 9:41 of the first period. Following a faceoff in the Jets' end of the ice, the puck squirted free and Wheeler lugged it down the right wing before slipping a shot between Demko's pads from the bottom of the faceoff circle.
The score remained 1-0 until the third, when the Jets tallied three times.
Lowry scored at 2:07 of the final period, getting a fluke goal. His centering pass on a two-on-one break deflected off a defenseman's stick and flipped over Demko's right shoulder.
Lowry made it 3-0 at 8:42. Josh Morrissey flipped the puck toward the net from the left point, and Andrew Copp deflected it to a wide-open Lowry at the right post. Lowry hammered the puck into the net.
Stastny completed the scoring at the 17-minute mark, taking a centering pass from Mark Scheifele and beating Demko from between the faceoff circles.
The teams are scheduled to meet again Wednesday, also in Vancouver.
The Jets still have four games remaining on their season-high, seven-game road trip, which concludes with a three-game series in Calgary.
