Patrick Kane and Alex DeBrincat each had a goal and an assist and Kevin Lankinen made 25 saves to lead the Chicago Blackhawks to a 4-2 victory over the visiting Dallas Stars on Tuesday night.

Kirby Dach and Dominik Kubalik also scored goals for Chicago, which snapped a two-game losing streak and won for just the second time in its past six games. The Blackhawks remain two points behind fourth-place Nashville, a 3-2 shootout winner at Detroit earlier Tuesday, for the final playoff spot in the Central Division.

Andrew Cogliano and Radek Faksa scored goals, Blake Comeau had two assists and Jake Oettinger finished with 24 saves for Dallas. The Stars were without head coach Rick Bowness, who remains in the NHL's COVID-19 protocol after registering a positive test on Sunday in Raleigh, N.C. Assistant John Stevens, a former head coach of the Kings and Flyers, took over for Bowness.

Chicago, which had an earlier goal by Kane taken off the board after it was ruled that Dach had preceded the puck into the zone for an offside, took a 1-0 lead at the 12:13 of the first period. Kane hit Dach cutting down the slot with a pinpoint saucer pass from the right wing, and Dach then fired a wrist shot top corner on Oettinger's glove side for his first goal of the season.

Chicago extended the lead to 3-0 in the second period with goals by Kubalik and DeBrincat. The first came on two-on-one rush with Vinnie Hinostroza just seconds after Dallas' Rhett Gardner had fired a shot off the post, and Kubalik beat Oettinger with a quick snap shot inside the near post for his 13th goal of the season.

DeBrincat followed with his 20th goal of the season, intercepting Andrej Sekera's clearing pass along the boards and then skating into the left circle firing a shot over Oettinger's right shoulder.

Cogliano cut it to 3-1 at the 1:29 mark of the third period with a short-handed breakaway goal, his fifth tally of the season. Faksa made it 3-2 with 6:14 to go when he tapped in a rebound of an Esa Lindell shot that bounced straight out by the crease off the end boards. It was his fifth goal of the season.

Dallas pulled Oettinger for an extra attacker and Kane sealed the victory with an empty-netter with 6.7 seconds left for his 14th goal and 51st point of the season.
