Cam Talbot made 37 saves as the Minnesota Wild blanked the St. Louis Blues 2-0 Thursday night in Saint Paul, Minn.

Talbot earned his 24th career shutout while winning on back-to-back nights. He made 28 saves as the Wild defeated the Anaheim Ducks 3-2 Wednesday night.

Marcus Johansson and Kirill Kaprisov scored for the Wild, who extended their team-record home winning streak to 11 games.

Jordan Binnington made nine saves for the Blues, who have won just two of their past nine games (2-4-3).

The first meeting of the season between the West Division rivals got off a spirited start as Blues forward Brayden Schenn and Wild forward Ryan Hartman fought just one second into the game.

St. Louis outshot Minnesota 10-2 during the scoreless first period. The Blues sustained pressure with their two power plays but they failed to break through.

Their frustration extended through the second period. The Blues outshot the Wild 14-6 but fell behind 2-0.

The Wild connected on their third shot of the game at the 5:46 mark of the second. After the Blues turned the puck over in the offensive zone, Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin triggered the rush with a pinpoint outlet pass to Kevin Fiala.

Fiala drove the middle and drew the attention of two Blues skaters and Binnington. Then he fed Johansson, who scored from below the right circle for his first goal since Jan. 28.

Talbot protected the 1-0 lead with an excellent glove save on Vladimir Tarasenko moving in from the left circle on a power play.

Kaprisov doubled the Wild lead with a burst up the left wing. He threw a change-of-pace move on Blues defenseman Torey Krug, then beat Binnington from a sharp angle at 15:21 of the second period. It was his first goal in seven games.

Talbot made another stellar save to keep the Blues off the board, this time on David Perron from directly in front of the net early in the third period.
